If a picture is worth a thousand words, a video has to be worth a million.

THE THINGS I WISH I COULD TELL YOU IN PERSON…

I wont be winning any cinematography or editing Oscars, but I want to take you on this journey with me!

You’re Doing What?!

Where I'm going, what I'm doing, and what's next for this #spoiledspinster with a serious case of wanderlust. I've given up my stuff, my house, my career, and pretty much everything I've been working towards for the past 18 years and decided to start over on a crazy new path. I don't know what I'm doing, where I'm going, or what will happen- but I'm excited to find out. Come with me on this exciting new adventure!

Your Aura is Purple!

I had an aura and oracle card reading before I left Nashville and the results were fascinating. These are pretty long videos, but if you have any interest in aura photography and tarot cards, my readings were illuminating and inspiring. Jane at Tertiary Sight is amazing!

He Had a Bad Day?!

I filmed a nice fun update about what I've been doing and where I plan to go since I blew up my life and decided to become a full time gypsy. But the idea of letting you think that I'm not terrified of being a single asian woman on the road alone in America today did not sit well with me after yesterday's domestic terrorist attack AND the coverage it received. Had I read this incredible article first, I might have just shared it. Instead I start at the beginning about what why I'm doing what I'm doing and attempt to explain the uproar for people that just don't get why we're so crushed by what we see around us. https://www.huffpost.com/entry/asian-...

Forgotten or Erased?

Coming to the realization that I didn't just forget or lose the Asian part of me. Subconsciously minimizing, erasing, and shrinking ourselves to fit in, and how an entire generation of Asian of Americans are coming to terms with how we coped in a time of #AAPIHate

Interviews with my mom

Unpacking our very different experiences as an immigrant and first generation Vietnamese American and discussing how we handle tough questions and difficult situations.

3 Months into the Soul Sabbatical

I’m not sure how three months went by in a blink, but I’m settling into the adventure! The website is live, the store is populated, the blogs are coming together, the recipes are being collected. I fill you in on where I’ve been and where I’m going at this point in the journey.

Soul Sabbatical: Spring 2021 Highlights

My iPhone made a compilation of the adventure to date, and my heart can barely contain the joy revisiting all of the amazing things I’ve seen so far!

PNW Highlights

The best of my adventure in Seattle, Tacoma, Portland, Bainbridge and Vashon Islands. What a whirlwind!

An update from my West Coast Run.

An open ended ticket west, a month in the PNW, sunny Sacramento, and what’s next on this soul sabbatical. A long overdue update video and several new blogs up on SpoiledSpinster.com :)

See Ya, Sacramento!

I can't believe my 3 weeks in Sacramento are up. I may be a bit extra, but I prefer to think of myself as a maximalist. I sure made the most of my time here in NorCal. I'm off to Alaska! The blogs are live for Sacramento and Folsom, San Jose/San Francisco, Fort Bragg and Napa are up next!

Run Run Rudolph, Lyssa's got to make it to town.

Otherwise known as- the time Lyssa tried to board the wrong airline's flight to Fairbanks, had to book a fresh ticket while running to a new plane to arrive in North Pole in time. I'm a professional travel, and this was a real first for me.

Naughty & Nice in North Pole, Alaska

This Road Warrior made the biggest rookie mistake of my life- but I made it to North Pole. Like Santa, I'll be checking everything twice (or ten times from now on.) But I'm here! Oso is showing me around his beautiful pond, my adventure planning is well under way, and there is absolutely no way I leave this house sit the same person I was when I arrived. So many cool things coming like Reindeer Yoga, Prop Plane flying lessons, paddle boarding in mountain lakes, and learning how to roll with it on my 10 day van camping trip.

I travel professionally…

How did I mess up my travel arriving/departing Fairbanks? I rang in my 36th birthday with a singalong with Santa, an ice hotel, hot spring, and surprise float plane excursion. So far so good with this #soulsabbatical! I fill you in on on how it’s going 6 months in.

VAN GO-GH VanVenture

I got desperate and brave and drove my way through Alaska exploring and camping in a uHaul van. This decidedly indoorsy girl got wild in the wonderful wilderness and will never ever be the same.

VanVenture Day 1: Van GOghes to Valdez

VanVenture Day 2: Van GOgh Chasing Waterfalls

VanVenture Days 3/4: Hello from Homer!

VanVenture Days 4/5: Homer and Heading to Seward

VanVenture Days 6 & 7: Kenai Fjords State Park and Entering Denali

VanVenture Days 8 & 9: Denali, The End

Soul Sabbatical Year One Recap

I have no idea how I blinked and a year has gone by, but it’s official. I’ve been a full time wander woman on a Spoiled Spinster Soul Sabbatical for an entire year! This highlight reel is the best of the best on this incredible adventure.
